Watchet (Variation) for a local flyswap.
Thread and body is Primrose Pearsalls, hackle is French Partridge and a couple of turns of peacock at the head.

Beautiful fly, John. What hook is this tyed on? I don't recognize it. Very wide gap, for it's size. Cool.

As the fly isn't dubbed it can't be termed a "Watchet" as all watchet flies dating from the first North Country Spiders are dubbed!

After checking every book I have, I must admit your right as rain. However, Johnno did call it a "Variant". Perhaps that accounts for the lack of dubbing.
I, for one, enjoy the historical aspect of our sport very much. Keep the comments flowing.
