It's been quite a while since I've shared anything (doesn't mean I don't peek in now and then). Since I know Letumgo and I get excited this time of year about fishing for lake run salmonids I thought I would share a pattern I've been working on....it's a grown up version of a pattern I tie for a guide who fishes trout streams in MA during the late spring into early fall then comes to NY for the Fall to Spring salmonid runs. Still working out the kinks a bit:

A very nice fly. That is my taste in salmon/sea trout flies.
Any recipe for it?

Well, you've got me going now Vern, I am going to dress some Salmon/Seatrout
flies using Brahma hen saddle feathers. They are some of my favourite patterns,
I prefer to dress them 'wingless'. They look better.

Vern - I was guessing that the hackle was CdL. That stuff is gorgeous. I hope you will plan on tying one of these at your tying demonstration, come January (hint...hint...)
PS - The proportions of this fly are perfect, to my eyes. I love the look of the hackle.
