Crappy photo intended to show how the fly appears in low light conditions (Obviously, I need to work on my phosphorescent photography).

This pattern was inspired by the ongoing thread discussing fluorescent materials in flies. Part of the discussion mentioned phosphorescent materials, which sent me off the the vice to play around. This fly is intended for fishing in very low light conditions (dark). The colors are chosen to provide a high contrast (black & white) and the body of the fly can be "charged" with a light source (flash bulb, led flashlight, etc.) to make it glow in the dark.

I tried some phosphorescent moths a few times. I caught a couple of fish, but less than I caught using "normal" moth patterns. Of course, I didn't really expect much as there are no luminescent moths here.

nice work on the body....I'm not a big fan of how the glow yarn is to work with, but you seem to have it mastered!!!

I had a couple strands of the material break when I was wrapping the body. Given a bit of practice, I can do better.

Way to go Ray, that's a cool fly. I can imagine it's applications in warmer water. Might be just the thing.

Nice work Ray.....i likes it. i have some glow in the dark threads. Used them to tye some night fishin' flies a couple years back.............i think i gave or donated them all away now...........might still be one or two around...............next time i do some more flies like that...............i'll post a pic.
