Frost Bite Soft Hackle
Hook - Mustad R70 wet/nymph hook (Size 10 or your preference)
Boby - UNI-Floss (White) or UNI-Stretch (White)
Rib - Fine oval tinsel (Pearl)
Thread - Doc. Blue UNI-Thread (6/0)
Thorax - Custom Dubbing Blend (White Rams Wool & Pearl Green Hue Ice Wing Fiber cut into 1/4" long pieces and blended together to form a glittery white dubbing that is also very absorbent to help the fly sink quickly).
Hackle Collar - Hungarian Partridge (two wraps)
Head - Blue Tying thread

We had our first taste of Lake Effect snow here yesterday (29-Oct-08), which became my inspiration for an all white soft hackle pattern. My wife suggested the blue tying thread, which I though was brilliant. The thorax kind of looks like a tiny snow ball. These are very pretty little flies with a pleasantly glittery sparkle like new fallen snow. Wish the light was a little better this afternoon to take better photos. The group of flies is supposed to look like a bunch of snow flakes.

Any way, hope you like these.
