Yes, it's a nice book. Glad to hear people are enjoying it. One can learn a very great deal from books like this, and there are not all that many of them.

i just love old plates (flies, fish, lures, anything related), and old books. i was just lookin' at the plates and illustrations in one of the books i got today, The Fly And The Fish by John Atherton 1951.......the introduction is by his wife Maxine who the book is dedicated to. Sparse Grey Hackle (Alfred W. Miller) was the editor, and much help was garnered from John McDonald author of The Complete Angler: the Letters of Theodore Gordon. i can't wait to read it.
i have both books by Alfred Miller (Fishless Days Angling Nights one of my all-time favorites), and John McDonald.
Whoever that guy was who said, "some of the best fishing you'll ever do, is between the pages of a book".....certainly knew what he was talkin' bout. ;)

Just went through another old book i have...........to check the (full color) plates again............incredable stuff. It's a first edition, American Trout Stream Insects by, Louis Rhead 1916.........KILLER plates. Scored this puppy at the antigue tackle shop as well...........guy has a real knack for finding cool old books.....not to mention tackle, flies, fly boxes, reels, rods of all kinds, tying stashes when folks die........i guess bein' an auctioner for so long has put him in touch was a humongous volumn of sources for stuff. i'm always runnin' into Doctors and all kinds of people who fish over there. The shop owner has an incredable collection of antique lures as well.............amazing stuff.......... ;)
