Today we (Frits and I) were out in the "Polder". It was a foggy day and Frits fished with a streamer and I fished with two spiders/flymphs)

I caught a Rudd:

Ruard - Thank you for the picture of the fly. Yesterday, I was thinking I hadn't seen any flies from you in a while and was missing them. I always enjoy your creations.

It is very rewarding to see photos of you and Frits fishing with those beautiful bamboo rods. Catching fish on fly rods and flies, which you built yourself is awesome. Lovely photos. The fog adds to the ambiance of the scene.

Great fly, and outstanding scenery. That fish is very handsome too. Looks like you have a wonderful fishing spot. Love it.

A wonderful post on all counts, Ruard. Your fly looks extremely "fishy" to me ... like something a trout would rush over to eat if you put it within his eyesight, and obviously it fooled a nice rudd. Your photos of the canal in the fog are excellent too. Thanks for continuing to share your fishing days with us.

Very nice fly Ruard. I'm going to have to go back and check out that technique. Looks like you and Frits had a good day. Of course any day on the water is a good day. I love misty autumn days, it's just a little sad to know what's around the corner.

Vicki.....find a way to a warmer climate now..........cause "a little sad" won't even come close in 15 yrs. i can't even imagine livin' in N.Y. in the winter time now.......let alone Canada..........bbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. What were we thinkin' when we bought in the Catskills.......... ..............It's bad enough down here...........and we still have 60's in the daytime...........hit 80 one day bout two weeks ago.
Actually those yrs. in the Catskills were GREAT.........but i'm sure as hell glad to be outta there this time-a-yr.
You can KEEP north of the Mason/Dixon..........unless were talkin' Somerset for a few days...........hehehehehe

This pattern looks terrific! It reminds me of the pattern called "Dark Needle" or "Dark Spanish Needle" of British fame I believe! Your pictures are wonderful too! Tell Fritz he is becoming a celebrity but don't let it go to his head! Fine work friend! Please keep them coming!
