Thanks, Mark. You did send me beads, but not that one or the one from the other day. I was looking for something else at a Michael's store and ended up buying small tubes of these two. And I thought the cover of Misa's book would be an appropriate backdrop for the photo ;) .

Oh my! So sparse but yet, or maybe because it, it displays movement!

Sure you didn't put on the hackle fibers one by one with superglue?

Lacking tying inspiration at the moment, this helps!

Have a nice weekend.

Very cool--I know the "show" with this pattern is up toward the eye, but to be honest the thing that's really interesting to me is that really subtle gradation of color y'all are getting on the first couple of wraps of tubing down by the barb. A killer to be sure. :)

Yes. After I wrapped the body tubing up to the thorax area and tied it off, I pushed the bead far enough forward so I could put some superglue on the hook shank. Then I moved the bead back to a position that resulted in the desired hackle angle. After the glue had dried, locking the bead in place, I tied in the herl, wrapped it, and whip finished behind the bead.
