Gee, thanks guys. I'm happy you like the fly. This way an excuse to play with some new tying materials. I was excited to try some picric dyed Hungarian Partridge feathers I received yesterday. I was busy with family stuff yesterday and could not head to the vice. I woke up early this morning and headed to the vice to play. I thought the tan mole would compliment the silk and dyed partridge. The partridge darkens slightly when it gets wet, into a lovely shade of golden olive.
Martin - You did a fantastic job dying the feathers. Thank you.
Ruard - No, I did not dye the feathers. They were dyed by our friend Martin (Stendalen). Perhaps he can chime in to indicate how difficult the process is.
Bill (tie2fish) - I continue to be amazed by your tying wax. I find it makes touch dubbing a breeze. I used your wax to help form the thorax section of this fly.
Mark - It's in my book...
