Yeah, it is a bit pricey, but that $5 does get you 250 yards ;) . Terrific fly, by the way.

What was your line thinking for using swords instead of straight herl?

They're prettier than standard herl. :D I just love the metallic blue of the peacock sword fibers. The blue seemed to be a nice complimentary color to the orange body.

The main disadvantage with sword fibers is their length (or lack there of). They are long enough to form the thorax of a fly, but would not be long enough for most full bodies.
