Thread: Tan colored Pearsall's Gossamer
Hackle: Shoulder feather from Himalayan Partridge
Body: Muskrat dubbed Leisenring Style on Tan Gossamer
It was no easy task. This is the first fly I've tied in months.

I think that is certainly up to your usual excellent standards, Mark. There's nothing about it that I don't like; if you hadn't mentioned how difficult it was for you, I doubt that anyone would suspect that it was a struggle. And, I think it's wonderful that you felt up to doing it -- that's a good sign that you're on the mend.

Thank you for taking the time to tie this up and share it with us. As stated before I'm sure it wasn't the easiest thing in the world so, again thank you. That partridge looks great, I like the coloring on it big time.

Excellent, I've heard mixed reviews of Himalayan partridge/Francolin but this fly makes a pretty strong case...

The skin I got from a good friend, here, is beautiful. It has a variety of colored feathers from barred cream to dark brown variegated, including this golden barred color seen on this fly. There are a variety of feather sizes, but most are in the larger fly range, with a few that can be used on smaller flies if they hold up while wrapping. This is the first fly I've tied with it.
