Bill send me a piece of wax and bison underfur. That was the reason for this fly:

Image

Hook: Drennan Super Specialist #12
Thread: Grey (9A) Pearsall's Gossamer wel waxed
Body: first thread and a thorax of bison underfur
Hackle: cream hen saddle

Gorgeous fly and photo! I love that hook.

Is that a James Prosek watercolor painting in the background?

It is actually a Ruard Janssen watercolor painting.

The hook is the same as the Daiichi 1640 but a bit more heavy.

Wonderful! That pattern would be a "killer" during the white fly hatches in the US Mid-Atlantic region.

Agreed. I'm digging that hook too. This is a nice combo.

Vicki

I shall post a couple in the cabin department.

BTW the bison underfur was not bison underfur but the fur of a Musk Ox. Thank you Bill.

Ruard - Does "aquarelles" translate to watercolors, in English? I recognize "aqua" as water, but am not familiar with the "relles" part of the word. I loved your paintings, by the way.
