Pictures for Turton's List

I have had a wee bit of a problem dressing flies for displaying old recipes on my web-site.
The eyes are not too reliable, sometimes ok, sometimes not.
So the recent addition of roadkill's pictures to the John Turton Flies gave me an idea.
If anyone would like to dress and post any flies from the Turton list,
I would be only too glad to use them, with full credits given, on my web-site.
I hope I am not being too presumptious, I don't intend to steal anyone else's thunder.
Let me know what you think of the idea.
I will not be offended at any negative opinions, I'm too old to be upset with them,
I have been castigated and insulted by experts in my time, senior nco's have a unique turn of phrase,
so, give me your opinions, and/or your flies. I am a lazy sod and it will make the Turton list look good.

This sounds like fun. should we just post pics in this topic? Are there any directives for the photos...ie...blue background etc.

This does sound like fun! Excellent idea, Donald. I would love to see folks recreate these patterns. I hope to see a number of tyers participate.

Excellent idea...
I know what you mean about Sr. NCO's.
After 24 years of dealing with Sr. Petty Officers (Navy), I know of that which you reference...
Knew one that was so good at chewing Ar*e he'd by-pass the ar*e and merely chew a ring around it .
When he arrived back at the starting point the ar*e would simply fall out and wobble upon the ground
like a man-hole cover...

Ah, now I get it. Well, I don't have enough experience to tackle something worthy of being on your website. Streamers, maybe. I quickly glanced over some of the recipes earlier. But in the future, I would love to dress some of the flies you posted recipes for Donald. Maybe I can make a few that meet the quality of your site.

The only rule is to dress a fly as close to the original recipe using modern eyed hooks and materials.
The background should not be too fussy, to give a clear view of the fly. If the results are posted on this
string, I can easily copy the picture and the modified (from the old one) recipe. Most of the flies are
fairly straight forward, I have tried to substitute more available materials on my web-site.
I will go through the list again and see what ammendments I can make.
Any material that the dresser can come up with will be welcome, as long as it it not too 'modern exotic'.
There is a huge amount of talent among our members, as far as wet flies are concerned, probably
the best on the internet.

Ah, I missed one. Thanks for pointing that out. Beautiful work. Those recipes are gonna be great to have too.

I have started a PDF of Turton's Flies, when there are a few more pictures, I shall make it
available to members of this site.
