The first word that pops into my head is "cute". The second would be "deadly"...

This is one of those flies that is hard to get the feel for it in a picture. The mole and the pearl mylar (which is not near as much visible as it is in the picture) really gives this pattern a translucent appearance.

That "deadly" description resonates with me too, and I would pair it with "delicate". No self-respecting midge sipper could pass this up.
