Body: fine silk thread light yellow

No, one of mine. I'm sure there's something similar out there. I've been tying a bunch to fill donation boxes for the expo's. This and the other recent patterns are for a box of small flies. Last year I was tying in Boise and gentleman commented that my flies were too big (mostly #14's

) So this year I decided to donate wee little wets. All #18 and smaller. This one is a #16 but is more like a #18 or #20 in size the gapes just wide.

Really like the wide gape on those hooks, never seen them here..... might be worth importing a few.

Another nice fly Carl, if somebody told me my #12,14 or16 fly was too big, my answer would be
in rather coarse scottish dialect, it is very useful for such purposes, alternatively I'd tell him to
go and tie some to his own pernickety specification.

Nice combo with the plover. I really like that hook as well. Great pattern. The guy was right...size# 14's? (smiles)
