Messin' with materials

Post by chase creek » Thu Jan 12, 2012 8:09 pm

Hook - Diachii 1640, #12
Rib - Fine Gold Wire
Body - Base of black thread, then 2 layers of H2O "Big Fish" Flash (Fly Tyers Dungeon)
Flash was waxed, then touch dubbed with dark Hare' Mask.
Thorax - Wapsi Steel Super Bright, black
Hackle - Starling

Using up scraps and ends. Head isn't so hot, but I like the way the body turned out.

WOW! That is a very cool fly, Roger. I love the look of the dubbing applied to the tinsel body.

Don't ya just love the materials from the Mad Scientist? Great materials, especially for the price.

Yes, I think your onto something there.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Simply ingenius......that body KILLS! Ya done Way Good. :D If you don't mind, could you tye another.....maybe with a little tuft of a tail and throw a pic up for us to check out........?........IF, ya don't mind. VERY curious as to how that'd look. ;)

i dunno why........but i got this "thing" bout tails...........usually meaning, i prefere them..........but not always. Some flies just seem to beg to have one........while other seems just fine wiffout. And i am not making any reference whatsoever between Mayfly and Caddis imitation........on that level i'm completely convinced it makes absolutely no difference to the fish..................it's just an asthetics "thing"...................you dig? 8-)
