Excellent fly and photo... :) A question: what are the properites of camel dubbing? I've now seen both you and Donald use it to good effect.

Thanks,

Camel, if you have ever worked with a natural wool, I would say it is very similar to that. Maybe a tad finer. It has a little translucent appearance but not a great amount. It does not shed water well so is good for wet flies and does a nice job of holding air bubbles do to the texture. The natural color is a nice "dirty cream" and works well combining with different color threads and as a base to mix with other materials.

A really nice collection of flies OH, I am quite fond of Camel dubbing I'll admit.
Do you prefer the up-eyed flies or are they for Hidy style Flymphs?
I don't have a prejudice one way or the other, although Skues did not like them,
said they 'skirted', not a hundred percent sure what he meant by that.

I find Camel is a usefull dubbing slightly coarser than mole, and it dyes better,
although I do like a small mole thorax or a touch dubbed body.

Excellent, I've seen the Waspi 12-color assortment at various vendors, so it's definitely on the list. :)

Old Hat, Howdy;

Great lookin' fly. Really enjoy your use of the rock (background).

If that set (in the box), dosen't draw attention The folks at that show
need to take up another hobby...

CB - Do you mean Wapsi has a dispenser with camel dubbing? I have not seen that listed anywhere. Interesting...

(like I need any more dubbing - or "lint" as my wife calls it :lol: :lol: :lol: )

Carl - Incredible flies and photography. Hella good!
