Hook - Daiichi X452 size 4
Thread - Pearsalls Gossamer Maroon (vintage)
Hackle - Black hen, stripped on ion side, 4 turns
Tail - Black hen fibers + two strands Krystal flash
Underbody - Opal Mirage Tinsel (Medium)
Rib/Body - Seal's fur, natural (sparse!)- inserted into split thread. Ribbed closer in the front to create thorax.

Note: Materials are listed in the order they are tied onto the hook.

Lame name for the fly, but I'm trying  :?:

Enjoy
Martin

Absolutely no problem, Martin. There are no secrets, and no IP, in my approach to flytying.

*soapbox mode on*

We all start life, and our activities in this world, as takers. We are the grateful recipients of knowledge and skills others share with us, impart on us.

At some later point in life one ends up in a position to be able to give back. This is not optional, this is mandatory (in my way of thinking).

*soapbox mode off*

I like what you did with the pattern, and compliment you on the execution 8-)

Cheers,
Hans W

Thank you Hans. Means a lot coming from you. It takes a while to develop a style and I get a lot of inspiration from your work.

I like both hackles. The body color is superb. I adore it. The fibers pulsating from the body too, will definitely be a trigger, not to mention the flowing hackle movement. I really really like this fly.

Okay, now show us what they look like soaked in water... :D

Terrific flies & photos, Martin! I am loving these dubbed tinsel bodies. I gotta give the technique a try ASAP.

Hi Martin;

Those are great! You've given me some ideas on how to tie a flymph for Bass.
