So here I was, tying up a bunch of Stewart Spiders, and I got an email asking about hooks for tanago fishing. If tanago fishing is new to you, see
http://www.fishingfury.com/20110308/the ... game-fish/, but realize the last photo is the quarry, not the bait.
Anyway, one thing led to another and ...
Hook: Daiichi 1110 size 26
Thread: Gordon Griffiths 14/0 black
Hackle: Starling

Well done, Chris. Finding a small enough starling feather, and hackling the wee flee.
Cheers,

I had to use a magnifying glass just to see the picture! I have a hard time going past 18's, so I have a lot of respect for these young bucks that can see that well. Really cool tie.

Chris.........a HOT!! "totty" at that. Very well tyed and lookin' good. Chris, my goal at this point is to still be kickin' for Sowbug.....not that i'll nessessarily be able to tye, but perhaps after the radiation treatments.....well we'll see. Point is, do not change your plans and go and get a hotel.....everything should still be fine for you to stay here. i'm on morphine now.....so i'll just take extra.....

NOW, to see if i can bob another blueberry outta my glass of 7-UP!
i gotta birthday card, signed by all the members of the Sowbug Committee today, with a messege that they're going to save my seat open, for all three days, and i can come and put it to use anytime during the show. It'll always be waiting for me. Brought tears to my eyes. You and Misa will be sharing a table. You it will be a very good idea if you can be there as eary as you can on Wed. the 21st to set up your table. Set up is at 10:00 a.m. So they won't be ready for tyers to individually set-up until say 2 p.m. We now have 117 tyers confirmed..........NOT BAD!

I use a magnifying glass for all my flies, even the #12s.

Wow. I haven't been called a young buck for probably 40 years, now. Maybe 50.

Chris, You couldn't have picked out a better pattern to tie small. I think Stewart's spiders are a perfect fly for wee wets. Easy to adjust the color, simple buggy profile and more action then you would find on most any pattern that size. Nice choice a super tying.
Btw, I need some hi-vis line for my Ito.
