Hans, your feather collection is staggering, and so is your use of them.
Now, this gorgeous hen feather appears to be more of a chalky, opaque white, rather than the transparent color of some fibers. I have not seen hen hackles like that. Really beautiful, with that black band in the middle. And magpie? I didn't know anybody was tying with magpie. Perfect.

I find good use for magpie in a range of pattern styles. Here is a sampling:

Hans,
Wonderful work, as usual.

Would be very interested in seeing your photo setup. Your photos are
always perfect.

Like a lot of other things in photography, the photo should let the viewer concentrate on the subject, and not the photograph itself. Your fly photos do just that.

Trust me on this - no, you would not :twisted:

I am more than happy to describe the setup, or field questions - but both the simplicity of the setup, but even more so the cluttered attic environment where it lives, are way too much an embarrassment to get it plastered over the net.

When I started Flytier's Page I made a 'hard' decision to present the flies in what I call a documentary fashion - simple and repeatable. Many can, and do, call it boring, but it works for me, and for the intended purpose 8-)

I ought not to admit how impressed I am by "Haka".
On this forum, I mean.
How can such a thing be so beautiful?

Hans, Howdy;

Dang!!! droped a whole hatch of your own...

I'm taken by 'Pool Shark' one of my previous life goals, floundered... :roll:
I'm also enjoying 'Haka'. A beefy broad shouldered salute to the 'All Blacks' team
or perhaps that was 'All Black itself ??? Another I favor...

Thanks for sharing ....
