I hadn't tried tying with hemp and wondered what it might do as a caddis larva type pattern, and needed a reason to play with some hot spot techniques. This is a hen saddle, strand of hemp from a three strand cord and uni-stretch yellow hot spot. After I took the pic I dropped the fly in a glass to see what it was like soaked and it does have a more natural, tannish tone. I'll give it another dunk and get a pic the next time I get the camera set-up out.

I have some chamois that I have been tying Buckskin nymphs with. After seeing your pattern, I think I am using the wrong material. Great pic, and tye as usual sir!

Like the color of the hemp. Would be interested in seeing a pic of it wet.
Love tying with unusual materials or stuff found around the house. :D

Nelly on the playlist and a Taco Bell right around the corner; life is good.

BTW, that must be a great looking skin--the genetic hen at my local shop is looking kind of "blah" these days.
