Really am at a loss to come up with a catchy name nowadays - you guys are throwing some pretty good ones out there.
It's just is what it is. By the way, am really starting to grow fond of the Griffith Ultrafine - gonna order some more colors
if my wife will lend me the money! I hope she doesn't make me wax the kitchen floor to earn it again.

Olive possum butt?
I do not know, but it is a fine looking fishing fly, fancy name or not!

I feel your pain on the name game. I like your choice of thread on your pattern. Your choice of materials is perfect, for the caddis hatch coming up in a month or so.

I don't name most of my stuff - don't want to get too attached to them before they end up as tree fodder. ;)
I try to tie fishing flies, not always pretty, and usually somewhat scruffy looking.
(A Brookie told me that's the way they like 'em)

Dear Chase,
How about...."Really Cool"? Wonderful looking, ultra buggy, fish catching.... where do I stop? I really like the claret colored head and (almost) tag at the back end. Very classy!
Going to bed now,

How about calling it an "M80". That thing looks like it would be as effective as fishing with dynomite. I think it would be a blast!

Fantastic fly & photograph!

Rodger, this is the Opossum Hen and Hare 3761, if it were mine. I should be so lucky. This is such a perfect little fly. Glad youre digging the Griffiths. Nicely done.

Nice fly. I've just tied one exactly like it but for different hook, thread colour, dubbing, wire and hackle. If you look at them side by side you don't see they are the same, but mine has no name either.
