Very cool. :)

BTW, have you seen Lucian Vasies' "Catgut Nymph"? It's really an amazing take on the whole caddis larva/pupa thing:

CreationBear, Howdy;

Reminds me of one of my favorite lines from "The Lion King".

"Yum, crunchy on the outside and gooey in the middle".....

Beautiful fly...

Jon, Lucian is a serious talent. I had seen that pattern a while ago and forgot. Thanks for the link. I believe I've seen that technique as well, although probably not as well executed and what a wonderfully conceived pattern. Just for a day, wouldn't it be nice to be able to put together a pattern like Lucian?

Hank...it's hard to miss with Disney humor in this house. :)

Definitely an elegant take on the chamois caddis idea--one of my friends is an avid tennis player, so I might have to accidentally-on-purpose warp one of his rackets. :)

William,
It looks as though if it fell out of the vice, it might wiggle across the table! Very real looking indeed. You do good work!
I am liking the Greenwells in the above post also!
Your pal,
Dougsden

Now that is a nice juicey looking morsel any self respecting trout would be hard pressed to let pass by!
Very nice tie.

A definite dinner bell for trout! Very cool pattern. No subtle segmentation there! :D
Really likin' that dubbing blend.

William - Tye up a half dozen of these and set them aside...we can test them on steelhead this fall. Better yet, tye them up and mail them to me. You can trust me (NOT!)... :D

Great fly! I love the hook, too.
