Beautiful fly, as always. Do you dye alot of feathers, furs and hair? Or do you purchase it or receive it in the colors you use? How does one dye pheasant to a chestnut color

paparex,

My feather and fur dying days are in the dim distant past.

My dyed materials are pretty evenly split between commercially available products, and material dyed by a friend in Ireland.

The Rusted Bumble is very much part of the latter. Pheasant, squirrel and Lady Amherst all came dyed from Irish contact. Veniard dye jobs, btw.

Cheers,
Hans W

May I get an introduction to your friend in Ireland? Just kidding you. I enjoy your tying and instruction. Thanks Hans!

That is beautiful, Hans. Puts me in mind of an Irish May ... must be the profile.
