I was playing around with some new material. Spirit River's Intruder spey hackle which is dyed peacock that has been "UV enhanced" whatever that means. Fished this for the first time this past week with good returns.
Hook: IGLA wet fly hook (~#14)
Thread: Pearsall's gossamer silk thread - purple
Rib: Pearsall's silk floss - orange - twisted
Body: Spirit River's Intruder spey hackle - purple
Hackle: snipe

Nice fly Carl! Is this the nymph form of the Purple Haze parachute dry?

I bought a pack of that peacock herl when I was at Roscoe. This gives me a perfect reason to use it. Beautiful fly...

I like it for tying. It is not as full and bushy as I like for select peacock, but it is strong. I received a selection of colors in a goodie bag at one of the shows I was tying at. I do like the colors and they do have a sheen to them that you don't see in a lot of dyed peacock. At least to my eyes.

That's a great fly. Works very well on the Metolius. I'll have to take a couple of these with me next time I'm in Central Oregon.
