Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer silk, claret
Hackle: Red and black furnace hen
Thorax: Blender-processed claret wool yarn in a Clark's block dubbing brush made using waxed claret thread
Tail: Red and black furnace hen feather barbs
Abdomen: Blender-processed mix of pinkish and cream wool yarns in a dubbing brush

Terrific fly, Bill. The fly has a that "vintage" look to it. I think the hook has a lot to do with it. Beautiful photograph, by the way.

Yep, I like that blended body and the materials combination a lot. Those wool yarn blends really have a lot of offer and the sparse body is really nice. Excellent work.

Excellent looking tie. I am going to have to search out one of those coffee bean grinders when I get home, those wool yarn bodies look so good blended together and wool is something NZ can do well.
