A little more experimentation with the Spirit River UV enhanced intruder hackle as a body dubbing. On this one I used just one herl twisted with dark brown silk thread. I wanted a lot of the dark thread to show through. Also, I utilized the undyed portion near the base of the peacock and measured it so that portion would form a darker thorax. The hackle is snipe.

Carl, that's really nice. I haven't played around with those herl body products, but they sure make an impression. It's nice with the snipe. Have you fished the UV enhanced materials much? I haven't been down that road yet either.

Thanks guys.

Willliam, I'm a bit pessimistic when it comes to "new and improved" things. Just my nature. Every once and a while there is something that stands out. I haven't fished enough with this material to make an opinion. My opinion is just based on my eyes so far and all I can say is I like the colors that this peacock is available in. It isn't big and full, rather sparse, but that doesn't bother me.

Attractive fly Carl. I really dig the color combination.

It's really easy for me to visualize a fish eyeing up this beauty with oral mayhem on its mind. A tasty morsel indeed.
