Grouse and Grouse 1550

This is the Ruffled Grouse tail herl body with an English Red Grouse upper covert hackle. The Grouse herl is less dramatic than the Golden Pheasant, but has similar tones and mottling with a smaller scale for smaller flies. I had a good source for these tails, but my colleague's sister-in-law divorced the grouse hunter from South Dakota...and the supply has been cut off. :|

Another great looking set William. I am really liking the natural tones and buggy forms.
These would kill on big NZ browns.
