Green Caddis Hare and Starling 1250
Hook: Daiichi 1250 #14 (yes, there are a pile of these on my desk at the moment)
Tying Thread: Griffiths 14/0 Brown
Hackle: Starling
Body: Dark Olive D-Rib stretch material in open turns over Multi-Hare Mask mix
I lost a couple like these my last time out so I replaced with them with something similar. Just trees, not broken off in an rush of silver flank as it slammed the fly. I wish it happened the other way.

Great looking fly. I like that hook so much I may have to bite the bullet and pick up some. Just what I need - more hooks!

Thanks. I thought this one looked tasty myself. I can only blame my clumsy wading if I can't connect with this.
Wayne, I didn't pick the dubbing out but I did a kind of adjustment wiggle when seating the rib so some is compressed and some escapes. The hare did a better job than the seal at creating the lively body. Like Lance mentioned in a previous post, I need to work on the staple length of the seal I'm using.
This version also uses an opaque vinyl material where the other series of these was an almost clear olive material. I think this will work too. I do like the "brighter" effect of the clear over seal. Maybe I'll do a comparison test next time I'm using these.

William, mate...... thats a little ripper. Great segmentation. nice contrasting hackle and that spikey dubbing just has to give a life like pulse in the water.
