I haven't tyed any patterns using the split thread technique lately. Thought I better brush up on it.
Hook - Mustad 3906, size 12
Thread - Griffith 14/0, Gray
Tail - Muskrat Guard Hairs
Abdomen -Muskrat in a split thread
Thorax - Ostritch
Collar - Gambels Quail

That is a really good looking fly. I love the subued tones, suits what our brown trout love to take long before glitz and glitter.

All-around great! The quail is a perfect hackle for that fly.

Wayne, this is beautifully done. Another of your muskrat variations. I like the muskrat tails on this as they pick up the tones of the hackle. Cool fly.
