A couple of Sakasa Kebari tied as simply as a couple North Country Spiders. I understand there are a number of folks using tenkara gear and methods with Western spider patterns and Chris goes as far as to show a reversed hackle P&O tied Tummel style. I thought it was a nice touch. The only thing different in tying these, aside from the reversed hackle and elongated head is the number of wraps required to get a more tenkara-like taper.

And the undeniable similarity between the two worlds...Dr. Ishigaki's famous traditional tenkara pattern, the Ishigaki Kebari. My version is probably only similar in thread color and hackle selection...but I haven't seen this one tied the same way twice...exept by it's originator.

Between the dubbing block, the herl/silk twists and the yarn bodies...I've neglected tying North Country Spiders for a spell. These are a nice reminder of why I love the patterns so much.

Dick Talleur would tell you to wrap an underbody of Uni-Stretch, but that might upset the Green Tea ceremony.
Nice looking flies, but you've been AWOL in terms of telling us what Tenkara
rod is in your future.
