Wow, going off the photo alone and the slick proportions of herl and hackle I never would have picked this as a #20!
Nice looking wee fly, but what is the 20/20 Club?

20 inch fish on a size 20 fly. I've done a 24/24 on trout. Now I want a Whitefish. They may not be glamorous, but man can they pull hard!

Thank you Sir...... all is clear.
Those sub #20 flies are starting to get a hold here. I have trouble tying below #18 and getting anything that looks half pie good though. There are guys here that catch trout in the 10lb plus range with #20 and smaller hooks though and if you ever meet a Japanese fly fisher, ask to have a look in his fly boxes. Odds are there will be some imaculate little down to #26-28 flies in there arranged in perfect rows with each fly just as perfect as the next. Some of those guys can really tie small.

Wow, that is fantastic. It's a killer fly, but the fish porn is wonderful. Nice fly and some great pics.

It's not just the Japanese....26 is the smallest in there. This is my Colorado Tailwater box.

Goodness sakes those are small! Earlier this summer I go a peek into Tim Didas' spring creek fly box and it was the same way...tiny flies.
Hey, if that's what the fish want, give em tiny flies.
Wayne - Terrific flies. Love the fish photos. I look forward to hearing how you do.

I quit tying 26's quite a few years ago. I still have a few 24's, but rarely tye on them. I went through a stage where I thought it was cool to tye and fish ultra small patterns. Size 22 is as small as I go now, yet I rarely have to go smaller than a 20.
When the fish are in a micro pattern zone, and they have me confused, I swing a size 6 Woolly Bugger past them.

DUBBIN, Howdy;
Thought it was lint in that box till I looked at the second photo...
That's insane, being able to tye on those let alone just see'em..
