Hook - Daiichi Model 1150 / Size 10
Thread - Benecchi 14/0 (Black)
Rib - Copper Wire
Abdomen - Pearsall's Stout Silk (Olive)
Thorax - Leisenring-Style Silk Dubbing Brush (Olive Seal & Hare Dubbing blend on waxed Primrose Pearsall's Gossamer silk)
Hackle - Hungarian Partridge (dyed Olive)

Thanks Wayne. This was my excuse to play around with a new dubbing block. (Thanks Lance! This dubbing block works like a charm.)

That's a beauty, Ray. The overall effect is stunning, but I'm partuclarly impressed with the way you managed to get the wire rib wraps spaced just so on a curved shank hook.

Thanks Bill. I think winding the rib over the silk helped. The silk "gives" a little, allowing the wire to bite in, holding its position better.

Has anyone else here tried Pearsalls Stout silk? It is nice stuff (but expensive). I bought this stuff from Great Feathers recently. Olive is a hard color to find in Stout.

This should glow like an emerald in the water. I get excited about materials and the seal is fun to watch in the sun. That with the silk and that brilliant hackle will make a big impression. Beautiful fly.
