Both good looking variations Donald. Many a pattern has been "spruced up" with the addition of a red tag, these two should do just fine as fish takers.

Donald, these both look very effective and nicely tied. The fly is basically a Reid's Assassin as shown in Nemes Two Centuries book, but with a full thorax. I'm not sure who tied what and when, but it's a great combo. You're right, it should certainly find a row in my box. I especially like the red swan tag. It's brilliant color. Great post.

Nice job on both flys.
Don't think the fish will mind
an askew tail nor the odd white enhancement
