I've heard it said that grief can be theraputic, but this is really some good stuff.

Ray, this is nice and tidy. Did you have steelhead in mind or just a combo that was begging to come together? I like the taper too.

Okay, Ray, I gotta admit that when I saw the title of your post my first thought was "How did he dub the zig zag pattern for the sweater?" Love the taper of the body. Almost reminds me of a Knudsen Spider except yours is much more elegant. It looks like a great Sea Run Cutthroat fly.

Ray, this exploration of highly contrasting materials (like your swap fly) makes a lot of sense.
I hope you have a chance soon to go do some field testing in trout water.
Your craftsmanship is perfection as always.

OK, have to admit Charlie Brown was never really a hit this far South in the Pacific.... but google is my friend and I can see the reference now!
Neat fly Ray, when do the rest of the cast make an appearance?

Ron - I took your zigzag comment as a technical challenge, so I had to revisit this fly. Here is a yellow version, with a black zigzag strip around the body. What a pita!

Needless to say, but I will not be tying the fishing versions with the zigzag strip.
Thanks guys. You are all very kind.
Bill (tye2fish) - You are absolutely right about fly tying being therapeutic. I am going through a particularly rough patch right now. Last Sunday, I sat down to completed my IBF swap flies. When I was done, I realized that tying the flies had put my mind at rest. I find that my mind becomes very focused on the task at hand, and the troubles of the world melts away for a little while. Good therapy & one of the hidden blessings of this hobby.
