Thanks gig! The Muskrats (Black Heads) have been my "go to" pattern for close to 30 years. I have alot of faith in them. Again, thanks for the kind words. ;)

Mole and Muskrat are two dubbings that are not too common in stores here...... at least genuine stuff. I am thinking rabbit or water rat underfur might be a decent sub...... seeing as how I have both, but seeing as how it is only "one more sleep" till the season opens here, this pattern might have to wait to be copied.

That is a very fine looking set of flies though.

Wayne, for some reason I've ended up using mole for these bodies and similar flies more than muskrat but I don't have a good reason for that other than my first few flymphs were tied using mole and I always liked the mole skin on my tying station. I really don't see an appreciable difference in the finished fly, but based on your flies I should probably explore the muskrat fur further and make sure I'm not running low either. These are exceptional. I especially like the color of the hen hackle, but this in partridge looks great too. Great set.

Hank, next time Odie is going with us. It's about time you saw how a real dog doesn't mind, or listen to commands!
