Got inspired (and ripped off) Hans Weilenmann´s flies (see
http://traditionalflies.com/friends/wei ... aHerl.html
Here is my take

Hook: Kamasan B175 #12
Thread: Benecchi 12/0 ginger
Hackle: Whiting Brahma hen, dyed tan
Rib: Yellow floss
Tail: Whiting Brahma hen, dyed tan
Body: Ginger heron, two barbs

Martin, another beauty and such a cool pic. I get bored with myself falling into the trap of fine tuning my own proportional preferences and its a treat to see these wild-child soft-hackles with long hackles and longer tails. Nicely derived from Hans (who I miss very much - would be great to hear from him), but when I saw this fly I immediately thought of Alice Conba, who I know derives her style from a regional influence. It all goes around and you've taken great advange of it. Beautiful combination of materials and just the right punch with the lively nature of the extremities.

A lovely fly, Martin. The "long" hackle and tail barbs really appeal to me.

Superb! I think Hans is probably one of the most copied tiers out there...whats the saying about "Imitation is the sincerest of flattery"...

Martin - Your posts are always magnificent! Gorgeous results, for both the fly and the photos.

Hi Martin,
Very nicely done
I am with William - I also thought of Alice Conba's style and proportions.
Cheers,

Thank you all!
Alice Conba is a new name for me, have to look her up. Any suggestions (books?)

Of course
I see your point now with the long hackle. Great tier!
