Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer #11A, Scarlet
Hackle: Woodcock upper covert
Tail: Red Grouse hackle fibers
Body: Thread wraps with pink yarn blend brush palmered up shank

I like the look of the hook a lot. For some reason my eyeballs and brain would not connect when I read the recipe. I kept missing the "brush" part of the desription. I understood the pink yarn palmered up the shank, but what was the ribbing? Got it now, finally. Great color combination. As I looked at it I kept thinking that it would be a terrific Grayling fly. Elegantly done.

Bill, this is striking. I love grouse and red together and this composition with the fuzzy body and that cool hook makes a classic combo. Beautifully done.

Neat looking fly and very cool method.
Love that hook, is that what you call an up eye +? Really liking the size of that eye as well, hard to judge from right angles but it looks big enough in the round to get a tippet through on the first attempt..... without a lot of swearing! :o
