Gone fishing

Post by Stendalen » Thu Oct 18, 2012 10:27 am

Tomorrow I go to fishing with some friends and my son and his friend. Midge fishing in lakes is on the menu. His friend is new to flyfishing so this will be fun.

Lovely flies (and photography!) I'm very curious about that last fly, especially how you wrapped the hackle--are you wrapping from the eye back toward the hookpoint, then working your thread back through the hackle? And it seems as if you've left a little dubbing in a split thread as you've done so?

Do let us know how the day turned out.

What's the body made of on the first fly pictured?

All three flies are beautiful, but the first one just rocks my boat. Recipe please. I really like the hook on the last two as well. What is it? Again, beautiful dressings on all three.

Martin, these are off the charts. I love this style and love the pics. Just top rate. Thanks for these.

Outstanding work, both flies and photos.

Martin - is the top fly tyed on one of the straight-eye hooks I sent? That reminds me, I intended to order some more of these to play with. They make a lovely wee fly. I love your creations. Beautifully buggy (sincere compliment).

Hi Ray, What hooks did you have in mind??

Very nice flies and photo's. Did you manipulate the colors with a computer?
