The other day I was wandering thru the store and saw a display of candles made of various colors of candy corn. I was inspired to take a photo of the display and use the colors to create some Halloween themed soft hackle flies. These color combinations may work on panfish, or perhaps wild brook trout. The white tail, may make them ideal for chubs (similar to the ones Donald Nicholson mentioned in Roger Woolley’s book called “Modern Trout Fly Dressing” (1932).

Beautiful rendition (don't leave them on the counter or they might get swiped for the real thing!!) perfect even segmentation and great taper.
Exceptional trio.

Oh boy, Ray ... those are just delightful! It amazes me how you continually come up with new patterns based on your casual observations of shapes and colors in your daily doings. Inspired indeed!

Ray, Howdy;

I'm like the others here in that I find them
interesting and nice "eye candy" as well...

Would you feel up to an explaniation of the
how do ya get 3 different sections of thorax
on there without a huge build-up...

I've been putting off commenting on these flies to find the right words. Can't do it, so awesome will have to do. Ray, these are great, vibrant colors, great body taper and lovely hackle. You amaze me.
