Great looking fly--I'm a sucker for "speckled." :)

I really like the speckled too. Great pattern again! Bill, I think you are cornering the market of buggy, fish attracting patterns. Thing is, you make them look so dang elegant! You are a great tyer sir!

Now that is the way it's done. Nicely conceived and beautifully done. There is a lot to these bodies, potential wise. This shows the elegance of the potential. How did you make your wire brush?

W ~ I made the brush on a Clark's block, twisting initially with my larger English hackle pliers and then with my fingers.

Very nice.
I have not, as of yet, tried spun wire bodies. By the look of this and some of the other fine examples popping up of late, I am going to have to give it a try.

Nicely done! really nice taper to the body.
I can't argue with anyone about the hackle. Really nice looking.

Bill,
Great fly, as we are accustomed to seeing from your vise. and the nudge that Ruard gave us to experiment with spun wire bodies seems to be catching on a little here. I'm telling you, the little wire gripper (Radio Shack) that some people use to mount flies for photos is worth a try, since it rotates so nicely between the fingers, making it easy to spin the wire. But your method seems to have worked beautifully.
