Hare's Ear Experiments

Here is what happened during my Saturday night playtime at the vise last night. Nothing great, but very relaxing and enjoyable. I cut the fur off of the ears as long as I could, which ended up probably being a little too long for the smaller hooks. Knowing how to cut the dubbing fur is an art in itself.
My apologies for not participating and commenting on other posts lately. Time is scarce as I am preparing a 45-minute slide show on THE FLYMPH LEGACY OF LEISENRING AND HIDY for the Art of the Angler show in Danbury, CT, next weekend, in addition to preparing other materials to sell at the table that I'll be sharing with William Anderson.

Lance, Add another that would pay to see your presentation. Lovely set of flies, superbly tied. Since I'm a sucker for that Grip hook, the first one really rings my bell. If I was a fish, I'd have a hard time choosing between such good looking morsels.

Like Ron, I really like the first flie but you got to love Hares Mask as a tying material, dubbing

Like some Gallic Davey McPhail he ties everything from full-dress salmon flies to nymphs, but his hair-hackle emergers are really special.

When ever more than one pattern is put on display favorites are picked. I would have a tough time figuring out which of these fantatsic patterns would be a trouts favorite. Very well done sir.
