I set up my team of flies ahead of time and need to find a box to carry them in. I have a perfection knot at the top, 12-18" down is the first fly, then another 18" the second fly. I need to carry these assort set ups. any ideas?

How about using a 4" long section of Velcro (both sides). You could wind they rig around your fingers (starting from the point fly). Then lay the rig on the one side of the Velcro strip, and sandwich it in between the other side of the Velcro. This would control the rig until it was needed, and would be very compact. Might be worthy a try.

When I stopped in Northern N.M., I pre-tied 2 sets for my day on the San Jaun....
wound them up around my fingers and took the heavier end with the loop and
wound it around the coils, placed them in my fly box and had very little
trouble with them the next day..... Some times we tend to 'over-think' things.

Depends on the tippet material you use as to how long they can stay on the wine cork before memory sets in and you end up with tight coils in your tippet terminal end.

It looks as if it holds about eight teams...it's a significant amount of space to take up in your vest, of course, for a couple dozen flies or so, but it might be a little slicker/faster than most DIY options.

Donald's right. There is a very long history of this kind of thing and surely some good information around for carrying these set-ups. I recall Orvis carried (they may still) a designated box (blue and yellow if I recall) that had long inserts allowing for a pre-rigged string to be wrapped and carried safely.

Or corks could work too. I understand there is a small mountain of wine corks at Jeff's place, beside the pile of bottles. What's that all about?

OK..... who's been telling stories!!!!?
Truth be known there are bottles of wine here you could write you name in the dust that has collected on them whilst they lament in the rack....... much more of a beer drinker, besides the cheap plonk all has screw top lids now!
