Hackle: Hen, grizzly
Body: Wire, black; Gudebrod waxed nylon, chartreuse - wrapped together

Hans, that's a nice contrasting wee fly. Impeccably tied.
The two body materials wrapped together? Is that so the waxed thread and wire lay side by side on the way up, thus having less of a pronounced wire versus wound as a rib after the silk and to help the wire remain evenly spaced? Or is there some more obvious reason that I have missed?
I do not think I have seen this method before with two so different materials, two different threads or yarns yes, even two wires, but not a thread and a wire.

Hardly - I messed up the pitch in wrap #4. The camera knows...

Correct as in less pronounced. The evenly spaced - well, see above

Yep - you missed wrap #4...

Hans, thanks for the reply and now you point it out..... I see wrap four, but like a word typed with a couple of letters missing and you can still recognise the word at first glance it is an impeccable fly because the eye see's what the mind wants it to. This is why we are our own worst critiques.
