PS - are you sure that is the chestnut color silk? It looks more like the sherry spinner (6B) color. I thought the chestnut color was a darker brown. It could just be my monitor.

I'm pretty sure. I 've never had any 6B. This thread is not waxed, which might account for it. Wish Pearsall's would somehow put the color designation on the spools, especially when there are more than one shade, like the Golds.

The color looks different on my iPad (more orange & brighter). On my main computer it is darker.

Which ever silk, it's a very nicely done spider. I need to get back to tying some NCS and restocking my boxes. This is definitely something to add.

I took a shot of Sherry Spinner #6b (left), Chestnut #32 (center) and Brown #17 (right). I can see why Ray thought this was the Sherry Spinner silk. It's a very nice tone. Either way...it's nicely done.
