Handsome fly, Hans. Immaculate dressing and the color scheme is superb.

The more I study this fly, the more surprised I am the tinsel body is so subtle. Is the body tinsel twisted with the tying thread, to tone down the flash?

No. Is 'proper' metal oval tinsel - not as bright as the mylar variety. I like the 'subtle'
Same tinsel used here, except in gold version - and shown less obscured:

Clarice

I love the look of the Grip hooks.

You know, that's just about the most aestheically pleasing fly/photograph I've seen--the "softness" of the hackle against that chrome hook is just magical.

No doubt it will fish, too...
(BTW, that "olive" hackle is reading more "warm brown" on my monitor--how would describe how it appears to the naked eye?)

Here's the tricky bit with this feather - the base is not white, the base is a mottled brown and grey saddle hackle - dyed olive. How to describe accurately?
I routinely list in my recipes: Brahma saddle, dyed olive
Does that help?
The color in my image is accurate. What you describe as observed on your monitor is also accurate.

Thanks, that's a neat feather: if you hadn't listed the materials I would have thought you'd come up with another fantastic gamebird skin....
