In recent months I have been fortunate enough to land a couple of gorgeous hen skins, one a grizzly with just a slight hint of cree between the bars and the other a very cool Barred Ginger Cree Hen, which I've tied with, but haven't had time to put together anything to post. I'll get to it.

The body is tied with three strands of NZ bronze peacock herl, special thanks to Jeff. I have yet to work out how to photograph the bronze irredescence of these herls, but you'll have to take my word that as the fly is turned in the hand (dry) the effect is a constant shift between bronze and green, unlike dyed herls. When wet the herl appears more bronze overall. Thanks Jeff.

Very impressive William. Pleasing to the eye and a fish getter for sure. You have been rolling out some awesome patterns . Keep up the great work.

William, when you can create art like this with it, you are most welcome! :D
I am just glad Ma & Pa got a replacement bird for the Peacock that was scared to death- went to the vet to be autopsied- and was never seen again before I could rescue any feathers, from the same genetic line.
That colour variation is too uncommon for me not to stipulate a similar replacement. ;)

That is a neat looking hackle, slight variations can be just what is needed sometimes to enduce a strike from difficult fish.
