Ray, you have done very, very well here.
Changing style like that to mimic Bailey style is a hard knack to crack if you are used to tying "regular" styles.
I like the tie, the methods used to reach the colours desired and the execution.
Are we to see a "run" of Bailey style flies and patterns?

Very interesting pattern and it would work a treat.
BTW, if we are talking of the 'Bailey' that originated the tying of Stewarts flies, then the correct spelling should be 'Baillie'

Another excellent dressing, Ray. Did you bleach the starling yourself? Wonderful coloring on the hackle. I do believe James' last name was spelled Baillie if we're talking about the same gentleman.

Thanks Philip and Ron. I will go back and correct the spelling of the name. I appreciate the feedback.

Ron - I bought this starling skin from Jim Slattery. Absolutely gorgeous coloration & skin. A very useful color for fishing flies. Lots of warm tan/earthy brown tones. I will post a photo of the skin, when I get home.

Oh my golly Ray!
This pattern and the bleached starling are unbelievable! I can imagine the hot spot shining thru the starling fibers softly veiling the spot and the underbody! Is there no end to your creativity? We certainly hope not!

Now that colour is getting very close to a Dotterel. So can we see some Dotterel spiders coming up? If you do tie some and get to use them you will soon find how effective the pattern is.

Ray, I'm always impressed and inspired by your flies. These are to my eye some of your fishiest finest. Very cool and no doubt deadly. Now I need one of these skins!
