Hans - I am stumped. I can not figure out why you picked this name. Please explain. Superb fly, btw.

*chuckle* Part of the fun, Ray, is it not?
It is a name I have found interesting - for a job far from amusing - the young boys assisting the gunner crews on the marine tall ships of centuries past, carrying the gun powder from the powder room to the guns.
I decided to use today.
Cheers,

Hans & Ray, Howdy;
Powder Monkey is also the 'nickname' for those that still
use explosives in their work on a daily basis. Even if they now
work with more refined materials then Mr. Nobels product
or the offerings form the du Pont family's establishments
along the river lending a name to a favorite fishing spot
of dub-ya and tye2fish ... The Gunpowder Rivers (Big and Little),
of Maryland.
Nice fly Hans ...

I have also heard the name refer to young groups of skiers and snowboarders on the slopes.
Beautiful fly Hans, I always love the Argentinian hare.

Hans,
Wow! Interesting history surrounding this name. I enjoy that part (the history) too! Great stuff friend!
