Partridge & Orange, 2 hooks

This is a pattern taken from one of Andrew Herd's videos (North Country Flies) at http://www.medlarbooks.com/video/flyfishing_videos.html
Tied on 2 different types of hook. If you haven't seen the videos, take a look - very interesting stuff.

1.
Hook - TMC3761 Size 12
Thread - Pearsall's Gold
Body - Tying Thread
Thorax - Dark Hare's Ear
Hackle - Hung. Partridge
Head - Peacock Herl

Hook - Diiachi 1870 Size 14
All the rest the same as No. 1

Wow!
I really like these! What a great addition...the peacock herl at the thorax! I esp. like the second pattern on the swimming nymph hook! You know I am a real sucker for that style of hook!
You did a really good job on these! Have you dunked them in your favorite waters yet?

Rodger - Sweet flies. Sorry I had not commented earlier. Ive opened this post a couple times, but each time I click on the link and end up watching another video. A prime case of short-attention-span-theater. :D

Rodger, these are both great looking versions. Still loving that swimmy hook. I don't think I've seen spiders tied on them. Cool post.
