Still working on the PMDs. I wanted to play with some spider (sparse) patterns to simplify. I wanted a little flash but not too much bling. For this one, I went with a lot of very fine copper wire. It is a small fly, about a #15 I would guess. I tied it on a classic Czech wet fly hook. The body is Griffith's 14/0 ginger, waxed and polished with my pet fish agate. Hackle is a light speckled dun hen.

Nice sparse spider, yet another idea and colour.
That hook is almost evil looking in the barb and point when compared to the fineness of the fly....... I like it!

I know, these hooks have a medieval appearance to them. The photo is so close up that they appear quite large, but in reality they are strong but extremely sharp. They grab my finger often when tying.

Call me a heathen if you like, but I like big barbs and sharp points for holding big trout.

Carl, that's a great take on a classic. Cool use of the waxed thread. Should do very well.
